The site, on the site of a former golf course has planning permission in principle for 200 residential units plus 1 Ha (2.5 acres) of light commercial space.
It is located on the western edge of Gretna and extends from the B721 in the north to Loanwath Road in the south.
The area within the site boundary extends to approximately 11.5 Ha (28.5 acres) of land.
The site is well served by the existing surrounding road network with the B721 running along the sites northern edge. From the B721 there is direct access to the A75 and M74, which provide quick access west to Annan, north to Ecclefechan and south to Carlisle.
The site is currently well served by existing bus services and Gretna Green Station is within a 15 minute walk for a large part of the site.
The site is well placed to take advantage of surrounding local amenities. There are a number of shops, family pubs / restaurants and cafés located in the surrounding area and within a short walking distance from the application site.
Gretna Primary school is within a 10 minute walk, located approximately 0.6 miles east of the application site.
There are a number of core paths and cycle route in the sites surrounding area. The site offers the potential to greatly improve the existing footpath and cycle network through the new neighbourhood. These will help to improve the connectivity of the area and serve to integrate the new development into its surrounding context.
